How we choose and rank products

Last updated: 16 July 2026

1. Catalogue inclusion

We include cabin bags, suitcases and backpacks when we can record useful external dimensions and enough product information to compare them with airline limits. The catalogue is curated and is not a complete list of every product on the market.

2. Eligibility for a recommendation

A bag appears in a fit-based list only when its stored external dimensions pass the same calculation described in our methodology. A paid link cannot make an oversized bag pass.

3. Ordering

Fit-based lists put a clear fit ahead of a tight fit. Within the same result group, usable capacity is generally preferred, with stable catalogue order used where values are equal. Trip Checker results also prioritise capacity after requiring the bag to fit every selected airline’s free allowance.

Prices, commission rates, affiliate network and merchant are not read by these sorting functions. No partner can pay to change a fit result. We currently do not sell paid positions inside organic recommendation lists; any future paid placement would be separated and clearly marked as an ad.

4. Product and price information

Dimensions are compiled from manufacturer information and stored with a last-checked date. Prices are indicative “from” values and may be unavailable, region-specific or out of date. Always verify dimensions, price and availability with the retailer before buying.

5. Commercial links

Commercial-link selection happens after fit and ordering. Active affiliate links are marked “Ad”. Read the Affiliate disclosure for active programmes and how commissions work.
