Airline baggage limits
Browse 52 manually reviewed airline guides with personal-item and cabin-bag limits, fare rules, official sources and worked examples.
Need a carrier that is not listed here? The bag checker and Trip Checker still cover all 151 airlines in our database.
Across these 52 reviewed airlines, 39 include a full-size cabin bag for the overhead locker on at least their standard fare. The other 13 — the ultra-low-cost group such as Ryanair, Wizz Air and Spirit — include only a free under-seat personal item and sell anything larger as a paid cabin bag or an upgraded fare.
38 of the 52 also attach a weight limit to the free bag, so a case can be exactly the right shape and still be stopped at the gate on weight alone. Each guide below spells out the size, the weight and the fare each bag needs — use the filters to narrow by region or to show only airlines with a free under-seat bag or a free cabin bag.

Airline cabin baggage FAQ
Why don't you list all 151 airlines here?+
This page holds the 52 carriers we have reviewed and written up in full, with fare rules, official sources and a worked example. The bag checker and Trip Checker still measure your bag against all 151 airlines in the database — this list is only the ones with a dedicated, hand-written guide.
How do I check an airline that isn't listed?+
Enter your bag's height, width and depth in the checker on the home page. It compares your bag with every airline in the database at once and shows the exact margin for each, so you get an answer even for carriers without a full guide yet.
Do these limits include wheels and handles?+
Yes. Every size on the site is the outside measurement of the packed bag — wheels, handles and bulging pockets included — because that is what an airline sizer measures.
Are the numbers kept up to date?+
Each guide shows the date it was last verified against the airline's official policy and links to that policy. If a rule has changed, use the "Report a correction" link on the airline's page and we will re-check it.
