easyJet cabin baggage explained

easyJet includes one relatively generous small cabin bag for every customer. It must go under the seat. A second, larger bag is an overhead-locker product and has to be added to the booking or included through the relevant fare or membership benefit.

What your fare changes

The included bag is 45 × 36 × 20 cm and up to 15 kg. The 56 × 45 × 25 cm large cabin bag can be purchased separately and is also a benefit of easyJet Plus or an Inclusive Plus fare when the required bag is attached to the booking.

What to check before you fly

easyJet expressly includes wheels and handles in both size limits. The 15 kg ceiling is high, but you still need to lift and carry the bag yourself. An automatically allocated Up Front or Extra Legroom seat does not by itself add the large bag.

Worked bag-size example

Take an under-seat cabin bag measuring 44 × 35 × 19 cm and weighing 12 kg. Compare it with the personal-item limit of 45 × 36 × 20 cm and 15 kg.

Side-by-side calculation
45 − 44 = 1 cm · 36 − 35 = 1 cm · 20 − 19 = 1 cm

The smallest dimensional margin is 1 cm, so the bag is within the size limit. Its weight margin is 3 kg.

We compare the three outside edges after orientation, including protruding parts. A result with less than 0.5 cm of clearance is marked tight because measuring and packing can change the real size.
