Who operates this website
FitsOnBoard is the publishing name used by this independent informational website. The publisher is responsible for the first-party processing described below. Read more about the website or send privacy questions and requests through our contact page or directly to hello@fitsonboard.com.
Your privacy choices
We use Google Privacy & Messaging as our consent management platform. Where consent is required, analytics and advertising technologies are controlled by the choice you make in that message. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time.
Google Analytics 4
If you consent to analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and how features such as the bag checker and trip checker are used. We may collect page and device information, approximate location derived from network data, and interaction events, including bag dimensions and checker result counts. We do not send the text entered into airline search fields to Analytics. For product-link clicks, our own events record the product ID, merchant, network, placement, market and whether the link is an ad; those custom events do not deliberately include the full destination URL or affiliate sub-ID. If outbound-click measurement is enabled in Google Analytics, Google may also collect the destination URL automatically when you open an external link.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the Analytics tag is not loaded unless the required analytics consent has been granted.
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to manage and, once approved, display advertising. Google and the advertising partners listed in the consent message may process data for purposes selected there, including ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, when you consent, personalisation. Depending on your choice and location, these technologies may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device/browser information and advertising identifiers. The current list of advertising partners is available in the consent message.
Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers when ads are served. Google and its advertising partners may use advertising cookies to select ads based on earlier visits to FitsOnBoard or other websites.
You can manage Google ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings and opt out of some other participating vendors through YourAdChoices. The Google consent message identifies the advertising partners enabled for this site and provides their privacy information; use the “Open privacy settings” control above to review or change your choices when it is available in your region.
Read how Google uses information from partner sites for more detail about Google’s processing.
Product and affiliate links
Product links open an external manufacturer or retailer website. FitsOnBoard does not use an internal tracking redirect and does not set an affiliate cookie before you leave this site. When you open an external link, your browser sends a normal request to that destination, which can include your IP address, browser/device information, requested URL and referrer. The destination may then use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy notice and consent choices.
There are currently no active affiliate links for the global version of this site. Registered programmes, including any programme kept listed during an attribution window, appear in our Affiliate disclosure.
Why we can process information
- Consent: optional analytics, personalised advertising and other non-essential technologies where consent is required. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests: delivering, securing and improving the service, preventing abuse, keeping basic technical records and responding to ordinary enquiries, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Steps requested by you or legal obligations: where needed to answer a request, handle a claim or comply with applicable law.
Essential processing and hosting
Essential storage may be used to remember privacy choices and protect the service. Our hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP address, browser details, requested URL and timestamps, to deliver and secure the website.
Retention
- Privacy choices are retained by the consent platform until they expire, are replaced or you withdraw them.
- GA4 user- and event-level information follows the retention setting configured in the GA4 property; aggregated reports may remain longer.
- Hosting and security records are kept under the hosting plan’s settings and, when necessary, for the duration of an incident, claim or legal obligation.
- Emails are kept until the request is resolved and afterwards only while reasonably needed for follow-up, legal claims or obligations.
- Affiliate reporting follows the relevant programme’s agreement and the retention information in that partner’s privacy policy, linked from the Affiliate disclosure.
International processing
Google, Vercel and an active commercial partner may process information outside your country. Where transfer restrictions apply, the relevant provider must use an applicable adequacy decision or contractual/other safeguards described in its privacy information. Contact us if you need information about safeguards applicable to first-party processing.
Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us to exercise a right. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority.
Providing optional analytics or advertising consent is voluntary and the core checker remains available without it. Basic technical request information is necessary to deliver a webpage. FitsOnBoard does not make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
