Allegiant is a pay-for-everything ultra-low-cost carrier: the only free bag is the 41 × 38 × 18 cm personal item that fits under the seat. The overhead carry-on always costs extra, whatever the fare.
What your fare changes
Every Allegiant fare includes the 41 × 38 × 18 cm (about 16 × 15 × 7 in) personal item and nothing else for free. A 56 × 41 × 25 cm carry-on for the overhead bin is a paid add-on, and buying it earlier in the booking flow is cheaper than at the gate.
What to check before you fly
There is no free carry-on on any Allegiant fare, so budget for the bag or pack into the personal item. That personal item is wide but shallow at 18 cm deep. Gate prices for a carry-on are the highest, so add bags online well before travel.
