Hawaiian Airlines cabin baggage explained
Hawaiian Airlines uses the standard US carry-on box of 56 × 36 × 23 cm plus a personal item on all fares, but — unusually for a US carrier — it also enforces a cabin-bag weight limit of about 11 kg (25 lb).
What your fare changes
All fares include the 56 × 36 × 23 cm (about 22 × 14 × 9 in) carry-on up to 11 kg and a 43 × 33 × 20 cm personal item. Most mainland US carriers do not weigh carry-ons, so the 25 lb ceiling is the detail to plan around on Hawaiian.
What to check before you fly
The 25 lb / 11 kg weight limit is unusual for a US airline and is enforced, so a bag that clears the sizer can still be over on weight. On smaller inter-island aircraft the bag may be gate-checked. Count wheels and handles in the box.

Worked bag-size example
Take a US-standard carry-on measuring 55 × 35 × 22 cm and weighing 10 kg. Compare it with the cabin-bag limit of 56 × 36 × 23 cm and 11 kg.
The smallest dimensional margin is 1 cm, so the bag is within the size limit. Its weight margin is 1 kg.
We compare the three outside edges after orientation, including protruding parts. A result with less than 0.5 cm of clearance is marked tight because measuring and packing can change the real size.
