SAS Scandinavian cabin bag size
Everything you can bring on board SAS Scandinavian — sizes, weight and cost.
SAS Scandinavian cabin baggage explained
SAS Scandinavian includes a small personal item on every fare and adds the 8 kg cabin bag on its SAS Go economy fares. The cheaper Go Light fare removes the checked bag rather than the hand baggage, so the cabin allowance is usually intact.
What your fare changes
The 40 × 30 × 15 cm personal item comes with all fares. SAS Go fares include the 55 × 40 × 23 cm cabin bag up to 8 kg. SAS Plus and Business carry more; the difference between Go fares is mainly the checked bag and flexibility, not the cabin bag itself.
What to check before you fly
The cabin bag limit is 8 kg, lower than the 10 kg used by several low-cost carriers, so weigh the packed bag. On busy regional flights a compliant bag can still be moved to the hold. Count wheels and handles in the 55 × 40 × 23 cm box.
Full baggage allowance
| Allowance | Max size | Weight | Fare | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Personal item / under-seat | 40 × 30 × 15 cm 15.7 × 11.8 × 5.9 in | — | All fares | Free |
Cabin bag / carry-on | 55 × 40 × 23 cm 21.7 × 15.7 × 9.1 in | 8 kg | SAS Go | Free |
Worked bag-size example
Take a Scandinavian cabin case measuring 54 × 39 × 22 cm and weighing 7.5 kg. Compare it with the cabin-bag limit of 55 × 40 × 23 cm and 8 kg.
The smallest dimensional margin is 1 cm, so the bag is within the size limit. Its weight margin is 0.5 kg.
We compare the three outside edges after orientation, including protruding parts. A result with less than 0.5 cm of clearance is marked tight because measuring and packing can change the real size.
